Afterburn is an upcoming American post-apocalyptic science fiction action film helmed by J. J. Perry, with a screenplay crafted by Matt Johnson and Nimród Antal. The film draws inspiration from the Red 5 Comics series of the same title, created by Scott Chitwood, Paul Ens, and Wayne Nichols. The narrative unfolds ten years following the devastation of Earth's technology due to a solar flare. Initial development commenced in 2018, was paused and then resumed in 2024.
