Disney’s live-action reimagining of the Oscar®-nominated Moana brings the beloved story to life as Moana (Catherine Lagaʻaia) once again answers the call of the Ocean. For the first time, she journeys beyond the reef of Motunui alongside the legendary demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) on a sweeping adventure to restore her people’s future.
Directed by Emmy® and Tony Award® winner Thomas Kail (Hamilton), the film is produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, with Kail, Scott Sheldon, Charles Newirth, and Auliʻi Cravalho—who voiced Moana in the original films—serving as executive producers.
Audiences can set sail with Moana’s stunning visuals, music, and magic when it arrives in U.S. theaters on July 10, 2026.
