Activate the laser sensors and double-check the vault security — the Ocean’s crew is officially back in business in Ocean’s Fourteen, here's everything we know so far.
Nearly two decades after Ocean’s Thirteen, George Clooney is dusting off Danny Ocean’s suit and reuniting with his old gang for another daring caper. And this time, they’ve got The Fall Guy and Bullet Train director David Leitch behind the camera, taking over from franchise originator Steven Soderbergh. Yes, the man who turned coordinated chaos into cinematic elegance is passing the baton to one of Hollywood’s most kinetic action filmmakers. If Soderbergh’s heists were slick and stylish, expect Leitch to make this next one move like a well-oiled stunt sequence.

The Warner Bros pic is entering production soon – shooting is scheduled for 2026 – marking a long-awaited return to the glitzy, jazz-infused world of con artists and casino kings that began all the way back in 2001. This project is not to be confused with the other Ocean’s project that’s also in the works. There are, in fact, two separate Ocean’s films currently being prepped at Warner Bros.—one a sequel, and the other a prequel. The prequel, directed by Twister's filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung, will star Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper, with Robbie’s LuckyChap banner producing. That project will apparently rewind the timeline and explore the origins of the Ocean family. When rumors began circulating that Robbie and Cooper might be playing Danny’s parents, Clooney himself confirmed the fan theory and relayed his support despite having zero involvement in the project.

“They’re gonna play my parents,” Clooney told Variety when asked about the prequel. “They’re all very gifted and talented, and they’ll all figure it out. I get to go and watch as a fan.” So while Robbie and Cooper are busy conning their way through the 1960s, Clooney and company will be scheming in the present day. Two timelines, one glamorous franchise — Warner Bros. is clearly betting that you can never have too much charm or too many slow-motion shots of people walking away from casinos.
Ocean’s Fourteen Release Plan

Clooney recently offered the clearest update yet on Ocean’s 14’s progress. Speaking to E! News, the actor-producer revealed that the film has finally secured its financing and is heading toward production.
“We just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we’re trying to set up,” Clooney confirmed. “It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about nine or 10 months, shooting.”
That puts filming likely in mid-to-late 2026, with a theatrical release expected the following year if all goes smoothly. The project was originally scheduled to start rolling cameras in January 2026, but has since been bumped to accommodate the cast’s other commitments—a delay that, let’s face it, feels par for the course in a franchise where timing is everything.

Who Will Return?

What’s an Ocean’s movie without an Ocean? Of course, Clooney’s back in charge, but he won’t be the only familiar face. Andy García recently confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he’ll reprise his role as Terry Benedict, the slick casino tycoon who served as both enemy and occasional ally to the crew. Considering Benedict’s knack for turning vendettas into partnerships, it’ll be interesting to see which side of the moral coin he lands on this time.
Meanwhile, several big A-listers in Danny’s gang are expected to return alongside Clooney. “Yeah, Brad Pitt, Matt [Damon] and Don [Cheadle] and Julia [Roberts],” Clooney said with a grin when asked if he’d be working with his old partners-in-crime again. “I had dinner last night with Julia. They’re all still really dear friends, and so the chance to work together would be fun.” Fun is an understatement — with this roster back together, audiences will be lining up just to see that effortlessly charming ensemble share a screen again.
What Could They Possibly Steal This Time?

Ocean’s Fourteen: Everything We Know So Far
Naturally, no Ocean’s film is complete without a dazzling, near-impossible target. From Las Vegas casinos to European art vaults, Danny Ocean’s crew has made a career out of outsmarting impossible security systems. But after Ocean’s Eight’s Met Gala diamond heist in 2018, the bar’s been raised pretty high.
In that spin-off, Sandra Bullock led an all-female crew of thieves as Debbie Ocean, Danny’s fresh-out-of-the-slammer sister, to pull off a $150 million Cartier necklace burglary at one of the most heavily-guarded events in the world. So, where do you go after robbing that? Clooney might already have an answer — or at least a joke about it. In a chat with TV Insider, the actor mused about the gang aiming even higher.
“I think we should rob the Louvre,” Clooney quipped. “But somebody’s already done it, man, I dunno.”

He was, of course, referring to the highly publicized $102 million burglary at the Paris museum early this summer. And while it’s unlikely the Ocean’s 14 script will directly draw from real-life events, you can bet the creative team is brainstorming a set piece with equally grand ambition. Clooney also added that his character, Danny, would be “proud of those guys,” which feels about right for a man who once staged an entire Vegas blackout just to settle a score. If Ocean’s 14 follows the series’ tradition, audiences can expect the perfect mix of glamour, deception, and a plot so twisty it’ll make you question your own jewelry box.
It’s easy to forget that Ocean’s Eleven began as a remake. The original film hit theaters in 1960, starring none other than Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr., the original Rat Pack. That movie was more of a hangout comedy than a slick crime caper, but it set the tone for what the modern version would perfect four decades later: cool people doing cool things in cool suits.

When Steven Soderbergh rebooted the concept in 2001 with Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon, the result was an instant cultural moment. The film grossed $450 million worldwide, spawned two direct sequels (Ocean’s Twelve in 2004 and Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007), and helped redefine what a “smart blockbuster” could be. Its witty dialogue, slick narrative, and oozing charisma among the starry leads made it one of the most beloved heist franchises ever made.
Even Ocean’s Eight managed to carry that legacy forward, proving the formula still worked in the Instagram era. The charm of the Ocean’s brand has always been about style over spectacle — swagger with a wink.
Now, more than twenty-five years after Danny Ocean first stepped out of prison in a tailored suit, the team is returning for one more job.
